ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION POLICY

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION AND EVALUATION FOR CLASSES KG TO XI

CLASSES PLAYGROUP TO PREPARATORY

In Pre-Primary classes assessment is a continual process. The academic year is divided into two terms. The student’s performance is evaluated two times in a term on the basis of systematically designed worksheets, assignment sheets and academic and different co-curricular activities for specific learning outcomes. It is needed that student must be quite regular in completing class-work and home- work neatly and correctly.

 

CLASSES I & II

The academic year is divided into two terms and each term has two assessment reports. There shall be no formal examination. The students will be assessed on the basis of day to day performance and regular classroom observations. The assessment would comprise of worksheet, assignment, recitation, group discussions, dictation, quizzes, project work, extempore, field project etc.

 

CLASSES III – V

  • Weightage: The session has two terms. Each term shall have TWO rounds of Periodic Assessments (PAs) and one Term exam (Half Yearly / Annual Exam). Both terms carry equal weightage.

  • Syllabus: Portion covered in the respective term. It will be made available on the school website also in advance.

  • Promotion Policy: Student has to secure minimum 40% marks in each subject as well as in aggregate for the promotion to the next class.

 

The student will also be assessed on three point scale in co-curricular activities which covers

  • Physical Activities,

  • Visual & Performing Arts (Drawing / Painting / Dance / Music)

  • Work Education

It is mandatory to have at least 75% attendance to appear for the Annual

CLASSES VI – VIII

  • Weightage: The session has two terms. Each term shall have TWO rounds of Periodic Assessments (PAs) and one Term exam (Half Yearly / Annual Exam). Both terms carry equal weightage.

  • Syllabus:

It will be made available on the school website also in advance.

  • Promotion Policy: Student has to secure minimum 40% marks in each subject as well as in aggregate for the promotion to the next class.

The student will also be assessed on three point scale in co-curricular activities which covers

  • Physical Activities,

  • Visual & Performing Arts (Drawing / Painting / Dance / Music)

  • Work Education

 

 

It is mandatory to have at least 75% attendance to appear for the Annual Exam

CLASSES IX – X

  • Weightage: The Assessment Policy shall be followed as per the latest CBSE guidelines and the circulars.

 

 

  • Syllabus:

  • Promotion Policy: Student has to secure minimum 33% marks in each subject as well as in aggregate for the promotion to the next class.

The student will also be assessed on Five point scale in co-curricular activities which covers

  • Physical Activities,

  • Visual & Performing Arts (Drawing / Painting / Dance / Music)

  • Work Education

 

 

It is mandatory to have at least 75% attendance to appear for the Annual Exam

 

CLASSES XI

  • Weightage: The session has two terms. Each term shall have One round of Unit Tests (UTs) and one Term exam (Half Yearly / Annual Exam). Both terms carry equal weightage for class XI.

  • Syllabus: Portion covered in the respective term. It will be made available on the school website also in advance.

  • Promotion Policy:

    1. Student has to secure 40% marks in each subject and in aggregate to be promoted to the next class.

    2. Moreover a student has to secure minimum 40% marks in Theory and Practical separately in the subject involving practical examination.

    3. A candidate failing in one of the five subjects of Annual examination shall be placed in compartment in that subject.

 

 

Appearing in all exams is Mandatory

NOTE:

  1. If any exam is shifted from the scheduled dates due to any unforeseen circumstances then it will be mandatory for all to follow changed as per given instructions and no application / excuse for any reason will be entertained for the same.

  2. Re-test in PAs/PTs/UTs/Term Exams is only allowed in case of New Admission / On Duty / Medical Leave and with permission from the Principal.

  3. In genuine case of absence during examination the Principal will decide on the merit of each case. Decision relating promotion of such cases will be at the sole discretion of the principal (based on the performance in academics, attendance and behaviour in the class).

  4. The Medical Certificate in case of Medical Leave should be submitted to school within 3 working days of joining the school along-with application from parents.

  5. A student will be eligible to appear for class X and XII examination if and only if he/she has atleast 75% of attendance for the 1st month preceding the month in which the examination of the Board commences.
